Digging buckets
A digging bucket is the narrow, toothed bucket that comes with most excavators. Teeth concentrate breakout force, so it is the bucket for clay, gravel, roots and thin limestone, and for footings and service trenches where width must be controlled.
How to choose
- 300 mm for poly and cable trenches, 450 mm for stormwater and footings
- Replaceable teeth wear; budget for a set every year or two of regular use
- Matched to the machine's pin size and hitch
Tip
In Perth sand a toothed bucket is slower than a wide mud bucket; keep both.
