An auger or drilling rig on an excavator or skid steer drills a post hole in seconds and a strainer hole in a minute. Fence lines, pergolas, sheds, tree planting and vineyard trellis all go dramatically faster. Rippa augers come with bits and are matched to the machine's hydraulic flow.
How to choose
- Excavator rigs for R10/R13/R15, R18, R22 and R32; rotary drills for each skid steer group
- Bit diameter to suit your posts and footing specification
- Torque (from pressure) matters more than speed in gravel and limestone
Tip
Start slowly so the bit does not wander, and lift regularly to clear spoil from the hole.
